Model 550 is a low-cost electrophoresis supply designed for embedded systems. Its high voltage output is isolated from the AC line voltage and the case. A special circuit monitors leakage current to the case and trips a logic circuit for currents greater than 500 uA.
The unit is designed to withstand continuous short circuits without damage. Since model 550 is UL and CE listed it may be used as a stand-alone power supply.
